Criticism of efforts on debt deal ‘unpatriotic’

The Taoiseach said he could not be expected to reveal to the Dáil what was said during a weekend telephone conversation with German chancellor Angela Merkel.

Enda Kenny also dismissed criticism of the Government’s efforts to secure a deal on bank debt as “unpatriotic”.

He told Independent TD Shane Ross he could “go on wondering” what was said in his 30-minute conversation on Sunday afternoon with the German leader.
