An Post applies to hike cost of services

An Post has applied to the Communications Regulator for permission to increase the price for regular mail services.

The move would see the cost of a standard stamp rise by more than 18% — from 55c to 65c.

The application is part of an overall request for a price rise which would also result in a 12% hike in the cost of domestic postal services and 11% for international mail.
