The IDA has given a commitment to continue its efforts to find a new owner for a company employing 30 people in Co Kerry.

Simpson Strong-Tie Liebig, which manufactures safety bolts in Killorglin, told the workforce last month it had made a strategic decision to leave the site before the end of the year. It plans to sell the business as a going concern.

Jobs Minister Richard Bruton said the IDA will continue to work with the company to find a new owner. Siptu has also engaged in discussions with management in a bid to secure the jobs.
