Personality key in farm love stakes

Personality won out over love and compatibility in the priorities of young farmers looking for a spouse.

The findings of a survey carried out by Macra na Feirme last month with 280 young farmers was disclosed at the National Ploughing Championships.

Ninety-seven young farmers said it was the key trait for them in a life partner while 84 said it was love and 75 said it was compatibility.
