Value of drug hauls to surpass €100m

More than €95m worth of drugs have been seized so far this year — similar to seizure levels during the peak of the drug trade in the Celtic Tiger years.

With three months to go, the total value of drug seizures this year will breach the €100m mark.

Official figures show that €59.3m worth of drugs were analysed by the State Forensic Science Laboratory in the first half of this year.
