The minister responsible for the greyhound sector has made a strong defence of those charged with running the industry.

Minister of State Shane McEntee said the chief executive of the Irish Greyhound Board, Adrian Neilan, was a model for others running semi-state companies.

His comments come as it emerged that the new track in Limerick has lost more than €30,000 a month already this year.
