Yates: AIB intimidated me and my family

Bankrupt former Fine Gael minister and broadcaster Ivan Yates has accused AIB of harassing and intimidating his family in pursuit of debts, and of forcing him to flee the country following the collapse of his bookmaking firm.

He also said the bailed out banks have taken an “iron grip” on the Government, and that the political establishment is focused more on its own survival.

He made his comments yesterday in an interview after his petition for bankruptcy was accepted at Swansea County Court on Friday.
