Body recovered from lake after boat capsized

The body of a man was recovered from Lough Derg last night following a search related to Thursday’s discovery of an empty and capsized speed boat.

The remains of the drowned man were located after 8pm by teams that had been searching for the man, who was missing since Wednesday afternoon.

The dead man was originally from Limerick but had been living in Ogonnelloe, on the Clare side of the lake, with his wife and young children.
