Former president of the GAA Peter Quinn Sr has claimed his fugitive son Peter Darragh Quinn twice tried to purge his contempt of court but the former Anglo Irish Bank would not accept it.

His son fled to Fermanagh, evading a three-month jail sentence in the Republic for contempt of court proceedings and a warrant issued for his arrest on Friday, Jul 20 last.

Speaking to the Joe Finnegan Show on Shannonside Radio, Mr Quinn, the brother of bankrupt businessman Seán Quinn, told listeners: “Well, first of all my son is not a fugitive, he is not on the run, he is living at home in Fermanagh.
