Despite his nephew being in prison and his own son being a fugitive from justice here, Peter Quinn has said the next generation of his family will “be back in business and will succeed”.

Former president of the GAA Peter Quinn Sr has claimed his fugitive son Peter Darragh Quinn twice tried to purge his contempt of court but the former Anglo Irish Bank would not accept it.

Seán Quinn is expected to mount a Supreme Court challenge early next week to overturn yesterday’s High Court ruling, which saw his son and nephew jailed for three months for contempt.
