Failure by the Government to agree a date or wording for the long delayed children’s rights referendum has come under renewed fire.

Fianna Fáil children’s spokesperson Robert Troy said he was concerned the Cabinet had gone on a seven-week summer break without deciding on the matters.

With the window for the planned autumn referendum now tightening, some experts fear the Government will have to postpone the nationwide poll until 2013.
