A dog welfare charity has been given three months to clean up its act after an independent inquiry exposed serious deficiencies.

The Cork City Council committee which ordered the investigation into the Cork Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals’ (CSPCA) dog shelter at Mahon met yesterday to consider the outcome of two site inspections.

The environment and recreational functional committee has now directed the CSPCA to agree a business plan for the next three to five years, to include:
