Man due in court over death of mother-of-five

A man in his 30s is to appear before Kilkenny District Court this morning charged in connection with the murder of Siobhán Stapleton.

The 51-year-old mother of five was found with serious head injuries in the yard of her home at Glebe Lodge in the Kilfane area, about 2km from Thomastown, last Friday.

She died in an ambulance on the way to Beaumont Hospital.

The man was arrested by gardaí on May 29 and held under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
