Chinese man charged over disguised stun gun

A Chinese man living in Ireland for 11 years was arrested in Cork yesterday and charged with having a stun gun, dangerous driving, and failing to stop his car for gardaí.

Gda Martin O’Connell arrested Wei Qiao, aged 31, of Carrin Court, Drogheda, Co Louth, yesterday, and charged him with a total of six counts related to an alleged incident in the early hours of yesterday.

One of the charges states that at New Mallow Rd, Cork, Mr Wei had in his possession without lawful authority or reasonable excuse a stun gun disguised as a flash lamp, made or adapted for use for causing injury or incapacitating a person.
