Closing crèche ‘will force mothers out of education course’

Some mothers will be forced to abandon an education course in midstream if the VEC goes ahead with plans to close a crèche in north Cork.

Cork County Council is to write to the Department of Education urging it to reverse the decision by Cork County VEC to close the crèche at Coláiste an Chraoibhín, Fermoy.

Cllr Kevin O’Keeffe (Fianna Fáil) said he had received a number of pleas from parents to prevent the closure.
