Style icon Beyoncé tops beauty list
The 30-year-old singer, a 16-time Grammy Award winner, told the magazine that her recently born daughter had given new meaning to her life.
“I feel more beautiful than I’ve ever felt because I’ve given birth,” said Beyoncé. “I have never felt so connected, never felt like I had such a purpose on this earth.”
The singer and her husband Jay-Z announced the birth of daughter Blue Ivy in January this year. “She’s just the cutest thing,” Beyoncé told People.
Other celebrities named on the magazine’s most beautiful list included Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Lopez and Elle MacPherson.
This marks the ninth time Beyoncé has made the mag’s coveted list. Joining her in the 23rd annual issue are fellow “most beautiful woman” hall of famers Julia Roberts (13 times), Nicole Kidman (10 times) and Mad Men’s breakout star Jessica Pare, a first-timer on the mag’s list.
Modern Family star, 39-year-old Colombian Sofia Vergara, took second place in the top 10 list while Charlize Theron is placed third.
Mirror Mirror star Lily Collins came in at number four, while Revenge actress Madeleine Stowe has made a return to the spotlight in fifth spot.
Kate Middleton, who celebrates her first wedding anniversary this weekend, rounds out the top 10 most beautiful women.
US First lady Michelle Obama and Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence and are also on People’s most beautiful list this year.
