Niall lives the jetsetting dream with One Direction
The One Direction star told how he is doing a distinctly starrier version of the Irish gap year as he heads Down Under with his bandmates.
The five lads flew out of America last night after their record-breaking assault on the US charts and a coveted Saturday Night Live performance.
But the 18-year-old Mullingar native shows he is still grounded by tweeting about following the Irish dream as they fly out to meet throngs of overwrought female fans on the other side of the world.
“Here we go..every irishmans dream ..when they leave college..what do i do..oh we go down under..oz and nz “up all night” tour is back,” he tweeted to 2.4m fans.
The teenager also told his huge audience he missed home despite the incredible success with the band.
He tweeted: “Missing home phones broke so can’t call anyone..not too long now till we’re back..its been a long run..but a great trip..now to oz & nz.”
One Direction proved their status as the hottest pop act on the planet when they performed on NBC’s sketch show Saturday Night Live alongside TV star Sofia Vergara.
The Modern Family bombshell, famed for her hourglass figure, hosted the show and acted out a sketch with the band.
Meanwhile, crowds of overwrought teenagers have been gathering in Sydney, preparing to welcome the five X Factor finalists.
“North america.thank you for having us.its been an amazing trip..you guys have been amazing.thank you all so much for getting us to number 1,” tweeted Niall to his fans as One Direction flew Down Under.
