Man charged with murder of Romanian teenager

A 33-year-old Dublin man was remanded in custody last night after he was charged with the murder of Romanian teenager Marioara Rostas, who went missing in 2008.

The body of the 18-year-old, who disappeared from a Dublin city centre street four years ago, was found following a 13-day search in a shallow grave at Kippure near Manor Kilbride. An autopsy revealed that Marioara had been shot in the head.

She was last seen alive by her 15-year-old brother on Jan 6, 2008, as she was getting into a car, while they were out begging on Lombard St in Dublin’s south inner city.

Alan Wilson, of New St Gardens, Dublin 8, is accused of the murder at 2 Brabazon St in the south inner city on Jan 8, 2008.
