Gardaí investigate two abductions in Limerick

In one incident a man on his way to work early yesterday morning was taken and driven for several hours before being released. The man was driving to work at about 5am when he stopped at the Old Cork Road after he was waved down by two men.

After stopping, the men jumped into his car and took control of the vehicle.

They drove for a number of hours before they let the car owner out near Kildare Town.

On his release the victim made his way to Kildare Garda Station and reported the incident.

Gardaí at Roxboro Rd in Limerick were last night interviewing the man to get more details of the circumstances of the abduction.

In a separate incident in Limerick on Sunday night, another man was abducted in an unrelated incident.

After breaking in to an apartment, several men, after taking some items from the home, forced the owner of the apartment to drive them to different locations in the city before allowing him go.
