Mahon saga won’t deter China trade, says Kenny

Chinese business leaders are aware of the “long and sorry saga” of corruption exposed by the Mahon Tribunal but that will not stop them investing in Ireland, Taoiseach Enda Kenny said in Shanghai yesterday.

Beginning a four-day visit to China firmly focused on job creation and trade, Mr Kenny said the damning findings of the probe would not damage international confidence.

“I’m sure that Chinese business will be aware of the conclusion of the publication of the Mahon Tribunal report,” he said.
