Websites hit by cyber attacks

The Labour Party and Irish Aid websites were the victims of cyber attacks last night.

In the case of Irish Aid, the emails and passwords used to access the site were taken and posted on another website.

The Department of Foreign Affairs said, as a precaution, the website server was taken down while its technology specialists examined how the information was accessed.
