‘Room for improvement’ on bottled water standards

THE bottled water industry needs to do more to improve the quality of its products, the Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) has warned.

The FSAI said there was “still room for improvement”, as a survey found 2% of bottled water samples to be unsatisfactory compared to 7% of similar samples in a 2007 survey.

Four of the 748 samples taken were deemed unsafe and were recalled from the market.
