THE uncle of a young GAA player who was electrocuted while taking a shower has spoken of the devastation left by the death of “a real top-class guy”.

Tony and Julie Joy from Kilmacthomas in Co Waterford flew home from a holiday in Spain on Sunday morning after the freak accident, which claimed the life of their son Johnny, 20, on Saturday.

It is understood the young footballer and hurler was preparing to head out to watch a local boxing tournament when he went to take a shower at about 5pm.
