Boy, 3, appeals for news of his missing mother

But one toddler has no interest in toys this year. He has just one Christmas wish: news about his missing mother.

Esra Uyrun has not been seen since February 23 after leaving her Dublin home to go to the shops, and her family, including her young son Emin, 3, have made a desperate Christmas appeal for anyone to come forward with new information.

The 39-year-old vanished after leaving her Clondalkin home almost ten months ago. Following a sea and land search, Esra’s car, a silver Renault Twingo, was discovered in a car park in Bray, Co Wicklow, but no other trace of the mother of one has been found.

Her family say she did not take her own life and believe something more sinister may have happened.

Speaking from her London home, Berna Fidan, Esra’s sister, says young Emin is struggling without his mother.

“We are, as you can imagine, very sad and distressed that we still have no news or clues about Esra’s disappearance,” she said yesterday. “To this day I still cannot believe that my little sister is missing. Not a day goes by without Esra being spoken about or asked about — I feel so helpless when I have to say I have no news.

“It’s nearly Christmas. This time of year was Esra’s favourite. She loved the Christmas spirit of things. She was always the first to put up her tree and start putting the presents under it. I can’t even bring myself to put up a tree this year — what do we have to celebrate?

“Emin does not know what to think — he is convinced that his Mummy is not well and is in hospital, and will come home when she is better,” she said.

Esra has blonde hair and green eyes, and is described as having a slim build.

She is 5ft3in and was wearing black leggings, white Nike runners, a black T-shirt, a black jumper or a dark blue denim jacket.
