ONE of Cork city’s best known restaurants has been served with a closure order on health and safety grounds.

The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) served closure orders on five restaurants and a hotel last month, including the Ivory Tower restaurant, which is owned by TV chef Seamus O’Connell.

The closure order for the Ivory Tower was served on November 24 and still remained in place yesterday, according to FSAI director of service contracts Dr Bernard Hegarty.
