Public asked to dig deep for toy and book appeal

PEOPLE in Killarney are being asked to dig deep to ensure an annual Christmas Toy and Book Appeal is a success, despite the recession.

Close on €50,000 worth of toys were distributed to approximately 800 children in parts of the county last year and the aim is to ensure no child is forgotten at Christmas.

Now in its 11th year, the appeal is this year being confined to the greater Killarney and east Kerry area.
