Director rejects loan claim
Bridget Dunne-Keaveney, whose husband Michael Keaveney is also a director of the company, claims she is not liable for the debts incurred by Rockridge after it failed to repay bank loans.
Ms Keaveney signed a guarantee for loans taken out by the company in 2006 and provided security by way of an investment property in her name in Lucan.
She claims her liabilities to the bank are confined to this investment property and that the guarantee does not make her liable for the whole of Rockridge’s debts.
After the bank moved to claim damages for breach of contract, she counter- claimed for a declaration that the 2006 guarantee was entered into by mutual mistake of the parties, was limited to the property in Lucan and was unenforceable.
At the High Court Mr Justice Roderick Murphy granted a request by Danske Bank, trading as NIB, for discovery of documents relating to the guarantee.
