Portable inhaler could revolutionise CF treatment

A HANDHELD inhaler could revolutionise how cystic fibrosis (CF) patients take life-saving antibiotics.

Ireland has the highest incidence of CF in the world. One in 19 people carry the altered gene responsible for the disease.

The TOBI Podhaler will replace the need for those with CF to spend over 20 minutes, twice a day, at home hooked up to a mains-powered nebuliser.
