Prince Charming’s search for glass slipper begins in Cork

Ladies of Cork have been implored to search through attics, cupboards and even under their beds to assist in the hunt.

Cork Opera House has appealed to the public to send in any glass slippers that may, or may not, fit the enchanting Cinderella in preparation for the Christmas pantomime.

The familiar rags to riches tale has began rehearsing for the all-singing, all-dancing panto with the ugly step sisters, the sparkly glass slipper and the most handsome Prince in all the land.

Director Bryan Flynn promises his creative team will bring a production of stunning sets, dynamic dancing, toe-tapping tunes and fun for all the family.

He admits to being thrilled to be again at the helm of the production.

“Cinderella is the greatest of all the pantomime fairy-tales and I, along with our fabulous team of actors, musicians and technicians look forward to bringing everyone a fabulous new presentation of this classic story.”

Actress Megan Cassidy is this year’s Cinderella, starring alongside Trevor Ryan and Declan Wolfe as the ugly sisters; Michael Joseph O’Brien is Buttons while Linda Kenny is the fairy godmother; Kevin McCormack has the role of the Baron and Patrick Kelliher is the envy of all, as Prince Charming.

The tale will to come to life on December 15 in the Cork Opera House, running until January 14.
