STUDENTS can now build their own model wind turbine thanks to training undertaken by their teachers during the mid-term break.

Science, maths and geography teachers from counties Cork, Clare, Dublin, Kerry, Kildare and Wicklow have spent a day at the Gneeves windfarm near Millstreet as part of the week-long course.

The KidWind training programme in Cork is run by Dundalk Institute of Technology.
