Bank seeks costs ruling on Quinns’ legal action

ANGLO IRISH BANK is to seek court orders requiring the wife and children of businessman Sean Quinn to provide security for the costs of the potential “mammoth” discovery of bank documents in the family’s action arguing they have no liability for repayment of €2.3 billion loans made to various Quinn companies.

Bank seeks  costs ruling on Quinns’ legal action

The unusual application by the bank will be heard by Mr Justice Peter Kelly at the Commercial Court later this month with other motions related to the action by Patricia Quinn and her five children — Ciara, Collette, Brenda, Aoife and Sean Quinn Jnr — arising from events leading to the family losing control of companies within the Quinn Group.

On November 30, the judge will deal first with the bank’s motion for the court to decide certain preliminary matters in that action.
