Martin admits no hope of swift FF return

MICHEÁL MARTIN has admitted Fianna Fáil cannot hope for a swift recovery, saying there are “no quick fixes”.

But he insisted Fianna Fáil would be around for the long haul and signalled that the party would adopt middle-ground politics under his leadership.

He also expressed “regret” that successive Fianna Fáil cabinets of which he was a member ignored the party’s grassroots.
