LIT finalises plans for biggest ever mid-west business showcase
This year’s event will be held on Thursday, October 20, at the Dell site at Raheen industrial estate and will see 150 businesses exhibiting their products and services to an estimated 3,000 visitors.
The LIT mid-west showcase is supported by a range of businesses and agencies in addition to Dell.
These include the main sponsor, AIB, as well as Enterprise Ireland, Limerick City Enterprise Board, Limerick Chamber of Commerce, Shannon Chamber of Commerce, Plato Mid West, Shannon Development and Supply Network Shannon.
LIT president, Dr Maria Hinfelaar, said: “This is a major opportunity, not just for the mid-west but also for the rest of the country as it enables ambitious companies to showcase their products and services to a huge audience of potential customers.
“This year we are recommending that those who want to exhibit at the event contact us immediately as slots are being snapped up very quickly.
“In addition to the exhibition, there will also be a great opportunity for businesses to hear from some leading Irish and international businesspeople who will give their insights and analysis on the economy, its opportunities and pitfalls, at our seminar. This will be of enormous benefit to businesses as they try to plot a successful path ahead,” she said.
Aongus Hegarty, vice-president of Dell, said the company is “committed to helping companies grow and thrive”.
He added: “Ireland’s future economic growth will be determined by the health of our indigenous sector. Technology has a significant role to play in helping Irish companies reach their potential and will be critical in supporting their ambitions to upscale and develop overseas.
“We’re looking forward to meeting with the delegates of this year’s mid-west showcase to learn from them, while also sharing any relevant knowledge and expertise with them.”
The showcase is open to all, from start-up and established businesses of all sizes and from any sector, to budding entrepreneurs and investors.
Exhibitors will, likewise, be drawn from a diverse range of sectors, from manufacturing to services, and will include high-potential start-ups who have completed or are currently on LIT’s LEAP (Limerick Enterprise Acceleration Platform) programme.
