Macroom murder hunt set to be launched

GARDAÍ are poised to launch a murder probe today after a man was found with extensive head injuries lying in a pool of blood in a house in Cork.

The victim, named locally last night as Don Geasley, 42, originally from the Commons Road in Cork City, was found dead by his landlord in his rented house at 9 Lower Masseytown, Macroom, at about 10am.

He had suffered extensive head injuries. Gardaí are trying to establish whether he was the victim of an assault in the house, or elsewhere.
