HAVING lost a daughter, Tony and Mary Heffernan feared they would never see the day when their gravely-ill little boy could live a normal life, let alone that they would see a medical miracle unfold.

But last night they — and the nation — watched as three-year-old Liam delighted the audience and host Ryan Tubridy on the Late Late Show.

“We have great hope for him,” Tony Heffernan told Tubridy. “The improvement in him is astonishing.”
