OFFENSIVE emails were circulated by a core group of people within a division of the Bank of Ireland, an Employment Appeals Tribunal has heard.

Pauline Keogh, former head of mortgage operations at ICS Building Society, which is owned by Bank of Ireland, said people involved in circulating such emails had “crossed a line”.

“I had no idea this was going on,” said Ms Keogh, who has responsibility for deciding on what sanctions to impose on staff involved in circulating the emails.
