Woman rescued after river plunge

A YOUNG woman was dramatically rescued from the River Lee yesterday by emergency services.

The woman, who is recovering in hospital, fell into the river close to the Mercy University Hospital shortly before 12pm.

A unit of the fire brigade and an ambulance attended the scene.
