Woman freed from custody

A WOMAN who was arrested in connection with the abduction of a temporary post office worker in Newcastle West, Limerick, which led to the extortion of €105,000, was released from custody.

She had been held at Roxboro Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.

A man arrested with her in connection with the same incident is still being held under Section 50 of the Offences Against the State Act, his period of detention having been extended by Limerick District Court on Wednesday.
