GOVERNMENT policy of reducing services in some hospitals and centralising them in major centres will result in further misery for patients, the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO) has warned.

Announcing a six-month review of Emergency Department overcrowding in 2011, the INMO said more than 46,000 people who were admitted to hospital were on trolleys in the first six months of this year.
