Up to 130 jobs to be created

ABOUT 130 jobs are to be created at a global healthcare company and communications business.

US-based Alere is to take on 100 workers when it opens a services centre in Galway to manage its commercial operations outside the US.

It will be based in the Parkmore East business campus.

Onwave, which provides satellite broadband ser-vices, is to employ another 30 people in Mullingar and Galway over the next year as it develops a new generation of systems.

The positions will be in research and development, project management, finance, sales, information technology and customer care.
