THE evidence of two key witnesses in the Michaela Harte case will be heard on Wednesday after legal argument disrupted proceedings yesterday.

Sanjeev Teeluckdharry, defence for Avinash Treebhowon, one of the hotel workers accused of killing the honeymooner in Mauritius in January, asked Chief Police Inspector Luciano Gerard to identify a DNA report. The prosecution objected, saying Mr Gerard had not seen the report, and was not aware of its contents.

An angry exchange of words between the lawyers followed and magistrate Sheila Bonomally decided to reserve her ruling on the matter until Wednesday.
