THERE will be no income tax increases or cuts to social welfare rates in the budget, the Taoiseach and Tánaiste have pledged.

Enda Kenny and Eamon Gilmore said it was important that people have “certainty” about their incomes in order to increase economic confidence.

Speaking at a press conference to mark the Government’s first 100 days in office, the duo insisted progress was being made in putting Ireland “on the road to recovery”.
