Irish Come Dine With Me ups steaks
The Irish version of the popular show will be broadcast weekdays on TV3 at 9pm, for two weeks in June, two weeks in July and two weeks in August — beginning on June 6 with an episode from Cork.
The shows have been filmed in five different locations and will deliver more fantastic food and a collection of competitive cooks ready to shock and delight with their unique brand of hosting styles.
For those who don’t know the show every week five strangers who love to entertain take it in turns to throw a dinner party in their own personal style. After each dinner the guests secretly score the host out of 10 — based on the food, entertainment and atmosphere. At the end of each week the top-scoring chef wins €1,000 in cash.
Avid fans of the show will also be delighted to hear that the Irish version will also contain the sarcastic observations from narrator Dave Lamb.
Cork is featured in the first week of the show, with five very different personalities battling it out for the €1,000 prize.
Country-living, animal-lover David Roche thinks his menu of a West Cork seafood platter, Chateaubriand and warm chocolate cake dessert is a winning combination.
He’ll be up against jewellery designer Victoria Shorten, strict vegetarian Luisa Costello, pro-hunting country mum Helena Crowley-Hayes and office clerk Jamie Knoblauch.
Director of programming at TV3, Ben Frow, said the Irish contestants have done themselves proud.
“This long-awaited series has everything you could ask for — rows, laughs, snobbery, fights and some very strong language.
“Needless to say the Irish have done themselves proud when it comes to creating great entertainment,” he said.
