Woman who gave airline false details has sentence adjourned
Pamela Hickey, aged 37, from Ashford, Patrickswell, Co Limerick, had previously pleaded guilty to two counts of obtaining a service by deception on dates in 2004 and 2005.
Last December the case was adjourned to yesterday when the court heard she was unable at that time to attend due to ill health.
Defence counsel Brian McInerney yesterday applied for a further adjournment.
John O’Sullivan BL, for the DPP, said he had received a number of documents and that the defendant had pleaded guilty at an early stage. He said it is hoped to deal with the case late this year.
Judge Carroll Moran said he had read a medical certificate submitted by the defence and there were reasonable grounds for the adjournment.
He put the case back to October 4.
Hickey dishonestly furnished Monarch Airlines with false information when chartering flights between Gatwick and Shannon in September 2004 and January 2005.
She was also charged in connection with a forged bank document dated January 14, 2005.
At the hearing last December, Mr McInerney said the accused had been advised by her doctor she was not well enough to attend.
