Gardaí and customs seize 440kg of cannabis in €3.5m drugs haul

CUSTOMS and gardaí have made the biggest haul of cannabis resin in more than a year-and-a-half.

The seizure of 440kg of cannabis, including 400kg of resin and 40kg of herb, along with 8kg of unidentified tablets is being given an estimated street value of €3.5 million.

The massive find was made after an intelligence operation by the Revenue Investigations and Prosecutions Division into the smuggling and distribution of contraband, including cigarettes.
