Dublin shooting

A VIOLENT internal feud in one of the Crumlin-Drimangh gangs in Dublin almost claimed a life with the shooting of a youth in a leafy part of the city.

The attack took place on pitches at Dartry, south Dublin, as young people were playing football. A 19-year-old, thought to be the getaway driver, was later arrested.

The victim, 23, from Crumlin, was fired at a number of times by two hooded gunmen at 6.15pm on Thursday, but was only injured once in his lower stomach.

His attackers fled in a car, driven by a third man, which was later found burnt out in Churchtown.

The victim struggled down towards Milltown and collapsed inside the Dropping Well pub.

A Garda source said feud involves seven members of the gang “which has split down the middle”.
