Enda Kenny did his best to avoid the Lowry problem

HERE are four words Enda Kenny did not say during his speech on the Moriarty Report: “Michael Lowry should resign.”

In fact, the Taoiseach made so little mention of Mr Lowry that he risked the accusation of going soft on his former Fine Gael cabinet colleague.

In all, Mr Kenny’s speech opening the Dáil debate on the report ran to more than 2,600 words.
