Woman who suffers cerebral palsy secures €3m settlement

A 27-YEAR-OLD woman who suffers from cerebral palsy allegedly because of negligence at the time of her birth secured €3 million in a settlement approved by Mr Justice John Quirke in the High Court.

The judge was told of the dedication and care her parents had shown Lisa Carroll over this period, during which time they have had only one holiday.

In paying tribute to “a remarkable family” he said Lisa was very unlucky in what happened to her but was very lucky as regards her parents, adding: “I don’t know what we would all do without people like you.”
