Solicitor denies €150k ‘dummy’ deal allegations

SOLICITOR Jeremy Doyle has denied confirming he was to be paid €150,000 for entering into “dummy” contracts, never to be performed, for the onward sale of lands in Co Offaly at the centre of a land deal “scam” allegedly driven by former FF Cllr Gerard Killally.

In evidence to the Commercial Court, Mr Doyle, a partner in Doyle Hanlon Solicitors, Mountjoy Square, Dublin, rejected solicitor Hugh Millar’s account of a phone conversation of January 17 last concerning the alleged “dummy” contracts.

Mr Millar, in his evidence, said his account of what Mr Doyle had told him was accurate.
