A YOUNG girl has lost her fight against Batten’s disease and died in the arms of her parents.

Five-year-old Saoirse Heffernan passed away peacefully at 1am yesterday in the family home in Keel, Co Kerry.

She will repose there from 3pm to 7.30pm today, while a mass of the angels will be celebrated at Keel Church at 12 noon tomorrow, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.
